IMPORTANT NOTICE – ADDRESS REQUEST PROCESS UPDATED -Effective December 29th, 2025.

The address request process has been revised in Sages. Any application submitted after December 29, 2025, will no longer need to submit an address request separately in Sages.gov. The system will automatically trigger the need for address assignment once the permit is issued. Any permits submitted by parcel number need to call the office and advise that your permit needs address assignment. 

If you are at the framing stage and require immediate assistance, and your foundation survey has been submitted and approved, please contact the Fayette County Building Safety front desk at (770) 305-5403.

Effective January 1, 2026, New Code Changes 

Adoption of 2024 International Codes with Georgia Amendments.

Jurisdiction: Fayette County, Georgia.

New Codes: All applicable versions of the 2024 International Code Council (ICC) Codes with the Georgia Amendments.

Mandatory Effective Date: January 1, 2026

• Action Required: All projects submitted for permit on or after this date must comply with the new codes and amendments.

New Submission: To Start a New Permit Application, click the Tile in the "Residential or Commercial Permits " section for your Permit / Plan Review and follow the steps to complete your new Submission. 

Re-Submission: To Re-submit a drawing or required documents, click on the Project Number adjacent to the Permit Number from the Worklist Tab and follow the steps to complete your Re-Submission. Please do not click the Tile on the Home Tab for Re-Submission, as it will start a new permit application/submission.

Plan Revision: To submit a Plan Revision to a previously approved Permit / Project, click the Tile on the Home Tab for Plan Revisions. You must enter the previously approved Permit number to continue with the Plan Revision submission.
(For Plan Revisions to Permits created in this system, your drawing files and data from the previously approved Permit will be copied over to the Plan Revision.  The project for the Plan Revision will be linked to the previously approved Permit.)

Deferred Submittal: To submit a Deferred Submittal item, click the Deferred Submittal Tile on the Home Tab.  Deferred Submittals are for any additional documents listed on plans as Deferred Submittals or any additional documents or information that needs to be reviewed or approved by the Fayette County Department of Building Safety.
(Examples of Deferred Submittals are Engineers Letter, Foundation Surveys, Truss Package, Steel Package etc.)
