2026 Sages Improvements 4/27/2026

Availability Request Application - Updated

Modified the availability request application for customer ease in determining project flow.

Commercial Fee Estimate Tile

Use this tool to generate a rough cost estimate for new commercial or multi-family services. This planning estimate is based on your inputs, is not reviewed by JEA staff, and does not include potential credits or tap fees.

Fee Example-Residential New Service

This reference tool outlines typical fees for 3/4", 1", and 1.5" residential services. No input is required, and nothing is submitted for review.

JEA Issued Detailed Fee Estimate

JEA provides detailed fee estimates at key project milestones:

  • Approved Plans (excludes tap fees)
  • Approved Special Estimate (includes applicable tap fees)

These non-binding estimates are based on approved plans and reflect current tariff rates, which are subject to change per the latest JEA Water and Sewer System Tariff.

Water Locates Process Improvement

Internal process improvements have streamlined application processing, field testing, and reporting—reducing overall timelines by approximately five business days.

New Service Application Format and Invoice

JEA has updated its new service application process by consolidating three separate applications into a single, streamlined form. When you are ready to apply for service, simply select the “New Service Application” tile and identify the appropriate service type—residential, commercial, or multi-family—within the application.

This enhancement improves efficiency by simplifying the review process and providing staff with the flexibility to adjust the service type as needed, eliminating the need for customers to submit a new application.

As part of this update, an invoice feature has also been introduced. Once your application is approved, JEA will issue an invoice for the requested services, providing clear documentation for your records.

JEA Launches Interactive Development Tracker 4/27/2026

JEA has launched an interactive map that allows customers to view active Water/Wastewater development projects in JEA’s service territory. The tool is designed to make doing business with JEA easier by providing clear, real-time visibility into project status.

The map allows customers to track the progress of their own projects while also viewing nearby developments — helping support better coordination and collaboration across the development community. It shows projects’ updated status during the design and construction process, providing six status levels: Under Review, Plan Approved, Project Approved, Project Under Construction, Project Substantial Completion, and Project Complete (within the last two years). Detailed views provide descriptions of projects, their status and a link to project’s electronic plan submissions (SagesGov).

The searchable map can be found on jea.com’s Water and Wastewater Development page.

Permitting UPDATE 2/24/2026

JEA has amended the agreement with the FDEP and will begin self-permitting its entire service territory as of now. This will pertain to projects that meet the same parameters that were previously self-permitted in Duval. Please see the updated determination table when submitting in Step 3. JEA has updated its applications to be fillable forms, going forward all submittals should be the 2025 revision available on JEA’s Forms and Procedures webpage.
