Important Notice to All Residents, Contractors, and Developers
Beginning January 1, 2026, new mandatory State Minimum Standard Codes with Georgia amendments will take effect. Please review the updated requirements before submitting plans or permit applications. A memorandum from the Georgia Department of Community Affairs is available Click Here and through Georgia Department of Community Affairs website. We appreciate your cooperation in meeting these new state standards.

Effective January 1, 2026, all Pre-Application and Pre-Construction meetings must be requested through our online portal.
Applicants are required to complete the Pre-Application Form located under the Planning and Zoning tab.

All Business License renewal applications have been processed, and invoices have been mailed out.

When completing Occupational Tax Certificate applications, please ensure your business address is entered correctly.
If the location of your business does not populate in the address section, manually type the full address in the Location Details field.

Updates on Building Permits

*Per our Building Official all General Contractors must provide a completed and notarized General Contractor Affidavit Form. 

**Per our Building Official prior to the issuance of the Building Permit we must have all of the Subcontractor's Affidavit and Credentials (if applicable).

Updates on Sign Permits

*For New Business sign permits will be issued once the Certificate of Occupancy has been release.

**For Existing Business sign permits will be issued once business license has been verified

*Prior to the issuance of the CO's Sanitation and Stormwater Impact Fees must be paid.

Updates on Certificate of Completion's (for Commercial)

*Prior to the issuance of the CC's Businesses must apply for an Occupational Tax Certificate with our business service division.

Welcome to the City of Stockbridge Portal for permits and occupational tax certificate.

To apply for building permits, planning and zoning applications, and business service applications. You must register for an account with SagesGov. 

Registration:

• Anyone requiring access to the SagesGov must register for an account by clicking the following link https://www.sagesgov.com/stockbridge-ga/Portal/Register.aspx
• Architects, Builders, Engineers & Contractors must first Register new account for their Company. They are required to list an account administrator as part of the registration process; once approved they can add additional users from their company under their account.
• People who submit projects for a company should be set up as users under the company by the Administrator and SHOULD NOT register for a separate account. 
• Independent Engineers, Design Professionals etc. may have their own Company/Firm Account or Individual User Account in SagesGov.
• If you already have an account with SagesGov in another municipality, you can sign in with the same username and password. Once you have a sign-in request, access Stockbridge.

Important Dates to remember to avoid additional fees~

• Beginning July 15^th annual renewal applications are sent out via US postal mail and email to all businesses.
• Renewal applications are due before or by October 1^st .
• Proof of gross receipts are mandatory (Profit & Loss statement or Schedule C out of the tax return) to avoid additional late fees excluding professional businesses that are paying $400 flat rate per person. *Note that this is for lawyers, doctors, etc. please look at the definitions in City of Stockbridge law 9.01.010.*
• Beginning on October 2^nd -Late fees implementation to all accounts for not submitting renewal applications.
• All invoices are mailed out the first week of November.
• Annual business tax payments are due on or before December 31^st .
• Grace period for business payments are January 1-15.
• January 16^th - Late fee implementation begins for businesses who has not paid by January 16^th .
  (Please note that if the 16^th falls on the weekend or a holiday, late fees will be assessed on the next business day.)
• At the beginning of February new invoices are mailed to all businesses with all fees attached with Past Due stamps on the envelopes and invoices.
• Delinquent business emails are made weekly in the month of March which will include all members of Business Services, Code Enforcement, and the Fire Chief. This will allow the businesses the opportunity to pay by phone or in-person to avoid citations which will be issued in April.
• Beginning April 1^st - Citations are issued by Code Enforcement with court dates attached to appear in court with additional fines starting at $300.00.
